Basic Rules

Community conduct, personal boundaries, staff cooperation and good-faith behaviour.

Treat others with respect

Do not harass, bully, threaten, excessively insult, or deliberately antagonise other members of the community. Normal disagreements, banter, and rivalry are fine when everyone involved is comfortable with it.

Respect other peoples property.

Do not steal from, grief, damage, sabotage, or interfere with another player's builds, belongings, settlements, animals, farms, or other property unless the game's mechanics and relevant rules specifically allow it.

Do Not Discriminate Against Others

Racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, religious hatred, slurs, or targeted discrimination against another person or group are not tolerated. This should apply whether the behaviour is presented seriously or as a "joke."

Settle Disputes Civilly

Players are expected to attempt to resolve ordinary disagreements calmly. Do not turn personal disputes into prolonged harassment, public witch-hunts, server-wide drama, or attempts to rally other players against somebody.

Respect Personal Boundaries

If somebody clearly asks you to stop contacting, following, provoking, harassing, or otherwise bothering them, respect that request. Roleplay or in-game rivalry does not override someone's real-world boundaries.

Keep In-Character and Out-of-Character Conflict Separate

Wars, rivalries, political disputes, religion, insults, betrayal, and other roleplay events should remain within the game. Do not use roleplay as justification for genuine harassment, nor carry personal arguments into roleplay to target somebody.

Do Not Deliberately Disrupt the Community

Trolling, spam, baiting arguments, deliberately creating hostility, impersonating other players, spreading fabricated accusations, or repeatedly trying to ruin other players' experience is prohibited.

Cooperate with Staff

When a staff member is handling a report, dispute, investigation, or moderation issue, follow reasonable instructions and allow them to resolve it. Do not obstruct investigations, knowingly provide false information, or encourage others to ignore staff instructions.

Staff Authority Does Not Prevent Criticism

Players may disagree with staff decisions, criticise the server, report staff members, and appeal punishments. However, disputes with staff should be handled through the appropriate channels rather than harassment, abuse, disruption, or refusing moderation instructions.

Act in Good Faith

Rules cannot describe every possible situation. Deliberately exploiting technicalities, coordinating behaviour designed to circumvent the rules, or repeatedly acting in a way that is clearly harmful to the community may still result in staff intervention.

Malicious Behaviour

Doxxing, threats, phishing, impersonation, false accusations and harmful content.

Inappropriate Names, Skins and Profiles Are Prohibited

Usernames, nicknames, skins, capes, profile content, or other visible cosmetics may not contain deliberately hateful, sexually explicit, extremely graphic, threatening, or otherwise seriously inappropriate material.

Inappropriate In-Game Content Is Prohibited

Signs, books, builds, banners, map art, renamed items, messages, or other player-created content may not be used to display hateful, sexually explicit, threatening, doxxing, or deliberately disturbing material.

Do Not Dox or Share Private Information

Sharing, threatening to share, attempting to obtain, or encouraging others to find another person's private or identifying information without their consent is strictly prohibited. This includes addresses, phone numbers, private accounts, workplaces, schools, IP addresses, or similar information.

Malicious Threats Are Prohibited

Genuine threats of real-world violence, harm, hacking, swatting, doxxing, or similar behaviour are prohibited. Context and intent will be considered when distinguishing genuine threats from obvious jokes or ordinary banter.

Advertising Other Servers or Communities Is Restricted

Unsolicited advertising or recruitment for other Minecraft servers, Discord servers, communities, services, or competing projects is prohibited. Simply discussing or mentioning another server is not automatically considered advertising.

Malicious Links and Scams Are Prohibited

Do not distribute phishing links, malware, token grabbers, IP loggers, fraudulent downloads, fake login pages, or any other content intended to compromise another player's account, device, or personal information.

Do Not Impersonate Others Maliciously

Players may not impersonate staff members, other players, official Vastala accounts, or trusted community figures in order to deceive, scam, intimidate, obtain information, or damage someone's reputation.

Do Not Evade Content Restrictions

Deliberately bypassing chat filters, moderation systems, name restrictions, or other protections in order to distribute prohibited content may itself result in moderation action.

Do Not Fabricate Serious Accusations

Knowingly creating fake evidence or deliberately making false accusations of serious misconduct against another player or staff member is prohibited. Genuine reports made in good faith will not be punished simply because they cannot ultimately be proven.

Context and Intent Matter

Staff should consider the purpose, context, severity, audience, and repetition of questionable content before taking action. These rules are intended to prevent genuine malicious behaviour, not punish harmless mistakes, reasonable discussion, or content taken out of context.
