Arescetian Imperium
Emperor Pumpkin
The Shire-SpawnEmperor Pumpkin is an unfinished plant-based construct created by the laboratories of the decaying Gildenshire Kingdom. Project IterOrient was intended to produce an ultimate conqueror. The project was abandoned before its mind was completed, but the creature eventually woke with its central command still intact: march east and restore the Crownrealm.
Project IterOrient
The programme that created the Shire-Spawn moved away from its original design and toward cheaper, more immediate biological weapons. Its unfinished subject was left behind when the laboratories fell silent. When Pumpkin awakened, it had no clear memory of its makers—only pain, a fragmented understanding of the old realm and an absolute conviction that its form was the image of a perfect conqueror.
March east. Restore the Realm.
Because its body and mind were incomplete, Pumpkin sought power elsewhere. It mastered its native Shire-Magic, took enchanted northern ice to carve the construct Icyfrr and drew Void Ink from the depths of an undisclosed place to create Lord Skamni. It continued to collect and hoard magical power wherever it could be found.
The western shires
Pumpkin settled between the former lands of Gildenshire and Anarion. Before it could build a realm, it travelled through the western shires in search of the history its creators had denied it. Villagers treated its hollow eyes and tangled plant body as monstrous, forcing it to hide beneath scavenged rags.
At Amon’il, Pumpkin used moss within the walls to open a hidden path into the city. Inside the citadel, it overheard Dowager Queen Aella Vastala teaching Prince Varlion about their family’s past. The lesson revealed that Amon’il was the surviving centre of the kingdom whose laboratories had discarded it. Pumpkin stole what books it could and returned to the ruin where it had awakened.
The Imperium
If Gildenshire would not complete its creation, the Shire-Spawn decided it would complete itself. From its western base, Pumpkin founded an empire and placed its magic, constructs and authority behind the mission embedded in its mind. Curiosity, ambition and genuine attachment can distract it for a time; the command always returns.
