High Vriendon Realm

The High Vriendon Realm was an independent collectivity of towns and counties in southern Cuthlan, remembered less as a current power than as a foundational historical realm whose legacy still shapes later player kingdoms.

Origins

Founded in 1086 BS from previously disunited villages, Vriendon took shape as a practical political union meant to resist bandits and anarchic tribes. It remained notably separate from the Vastalan Crownrealm and never entered imperial vassalage.

Closed independence

This aloofness became part of Vriendon’s identity. The realm stood on its own terms, defining itself by local cohesion and defensive survival rather than by integration into the larger imperial order of the age.

Destruction in the Fourth Sundering

Vriendon fell during the Fourth Sundering, when the Soryks Tribe ransacked much of the realm, burning settlements and devastating its political structure. In this sense, Vriendon belongs to older history even when discussed by new-age players.

Legacy

Its story did not end entirely with dissolution. The Saltspire Empire later reunited Andermere, and House Riegenau survived long enough to re-emerge in safer conditions, eventually helping establish the Archduchy of Montavia. Vriendon is therefore included here as a legacy kingdom rather than as an active new-age state.
