Aelthir
A covenant realm governed by faith rather than bloodlineAelthir is a small but lore-significant covenant nation founded in 427 AS by High Keeper Arcanum, remembered as the last son of Greywood. It defines itself not through hereditary monarchy or popular mandate, but through oath, stewardship and fidelity to the Old Faith.
Overview
Aelthir arose from the scattered remnants of the old Anarion sphere. Its creation reflects an effort not simply to found another kingdom, but to recover memory, sanctity and continuity in lands marked by loss.
Government and covenant
Power in Aelthir flows from the High Keeper, who serves as steward rather than king. Authority is framed as sacred duty, not as a family right. This gives the realm a tone closer to covenant community than to courtly monarchy.
Faith and inheritance
The Old Faith stands at the centre of Aelthir’s identity. The realm’s own description presents it as a place that preserves what the Crownrealm forgot: memory, obligation and the moral weight of the past.
Aelthir in player lore
Aelthir is directly tied to Astaroth Arcanum, whose story gives the realm much of its emotional and spiritual foundation. In this sense, the kingdom functions both as a political body and as a living vessel for remembrance.
Astaroth Arcanum is central to the founding story of Aelthir.
