Insight Into Changelogs
We wanted to go a bit more in-depth with a showcase of our custom Mount Manager system. The system will cover horses, camels, mules and donkeys, giving each mount its own identity and making breeding and ownership matter much more.
Instead of every animal feeling interchangeable, mounts will have their own profile with genetics, traits, temperament, performance and bloodline information.
Genetics, Traits & Bloodlines
Each mount can have different values for speed, jumping ability and vitality, along with its own temperament and other traits. These characteristics can be inherited through breeding, which gives players a reason to selectively breed animals and maintain useful bloodlines over time.
The goal is for two horses to feel meaningfully different even when they are the same species. A breeder can keep track of where a mount came from, what it performs well at and what it might pass down to future offspring.
Ownership & Management
Players will be able to properly own and manage their animals. Mounts can be stored for transportation and ownership can be transferred to another player, opening the door for a proper player-run mount market.
The Mount Manager keeps the important information together in one place, including owner, generation, bloodline, performance and genetics.
Breeding Control
The system also includes neutering and gelding. Breeders can control which animals are able to reproduce, helping them protect bloodlines and decide which mounts stay part of their breeding programme.
